A woman in a wheelchair witnessed her mother being struck on a pedestrian crossing in Athens on Friday.

Police say an 84-year-old driver violated the right-of-way, triggering a fatal collision.

Her mother died shortly after. The woman, who has a disability, has no other family.

Greek-owned tanker Hellas Aphrodite was attacked by pirates firing machine guns and RPGs off the coast of #Somalia. The 24-member crew are safe, the shipping company confirmed. The Malta-flagged vessel, owned by Latsco Marine, reportedly had no armed guards.

WHO: Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) killed 460 civilians, incl patients, at a hospital in el-Fasher, #Sudan, on Tuesday.

More than 36,000 people have fled el-Fasher, mostly to rural areas around it, since Sunday. An estimated 177,000 civilians remain trapped in the city.

Samples of alcoholic beverages sold at the #Athens nightclub were taken on Tuesday (2 days after the teen’s death).

The samples were sent to the Chemical State Laboratory and results are expected to show whether alcoholic beverages were adulterated.
