Today was a fantastic day! We officially opened our brand-new respiratory and ICU units at Newham Hospital.
These state-of-the-art facilities are going to be a game-changer for our patients and the care we provide.

Just a reminder, as you look outside and notice it's already getting dark 😱, that today is the earliest sunset of the year (15:51 in London). From tomorrow the sunsets slowwwwly start getting later again. (Sunrises don't start getting earlier until Dec 30th hence solstice on 21st.) YOU ARE WELCOME.

We had a really tough day yesterday but our teams in ED and across the site pulled out all the stops. We are now heading into the tough winter period and we'll need everyone in the NHS to look out for each other.

We should be completely open and transparent about NHS performance. This should be available to the public in an easily understood fashion. We see this data internally in the NHS, we should't hide it from those we serve.
