For some reason I thought this was a fountain pen at first and now I want a flail fountain pen.

Mine would probably be "man-child who reads books for teenagers." I've got all the classics! Percy Jackson, Inheritance Cycle, Harry Potter...

Thing is I have much less time to read now than I did growing up, so it'll be a long time before they're outnumbered by anything more "high brow."

Is this... not what most people do? 😲
I got rid of all my icons on the desktop too, except recycling bin. I have a few common programs pinned to taskbar and thats it.

I season my chips (fries) with a crumbled stock cube for that savoury MSG goodness. Revolutionary discovery.

To be fair, a lot of this weirdness started with the very first Halo book (which is just... very weird), but Bungie spent most of their run sort of pretending it never happened.

Please no not again 😭

Actually watched the video and somehow its worse. Why'd they feel the need to add a bunch of explosions to the intro?

Other than that it feels a bit like Anniversary in terms of the reused assets & inconsistent visuals. But with an added bonus of poorly optimised Unreal and weird line reads.

It runs well on steam deck, I don't really like playing shooters on it though. I have a "steam machine"-esque setup in my living room now and playing Halo CE on the sofa with a controller was very nostalgic.

Halo 1 on MCC is pretty decent. You can set it to classic graphics from the start and besides the sad loading screens (srsly Halo used to have such cool loading screens) it looks great. They've fixed most of the wonky PC port issues that Anniversary had. Game looks better than Halo 2 imo.

What does this guy think a browser is?

I do like that, ludonarratively, Pharloom is an oppressive place and they really want you to feel that. You're experiencing directly how the world exploits the pilgrims faith and how it uses it against them. I think that justifies the economy being the way it is, but not really the other stuff.

I read Treasure Island for the first time recently, it holds up very well.

The guy in the middle's hair isn't that bad, right?

Asking for a friend 😅

This is a very cool design!!

Also, would that be a BATtle axe?

AC IV's modern day story is far from it's best quality, and Kenway's story works just fine on it's own for sure... but honestly I kind of get it? It's part of the original game - to remove it and call it a remake feels inauthentic. Revisionist almost.

Ah tbf I haven't seen todays episode yet. You do get the odd shot where its just obviously a dude, but tbh there are shots like that in Alien too. I prefer that to the CG shots, though they use them sparingly (for the xenomorph at least), but they really take me out of it.

I didn't think it was that bad? You can tell its a guy in a suit in some shots, but at least the practical effects have a physicality to them. The CG creatures all feel really intangible.

Made it to Act 2! Current thoughts: The game is hard! Boss fights are challenging, but it is rewarding to finally beat them. I don't think the exploration is quite as tight as HK, but the movement is very satisfying to pull off.
