Ultimately, wherever you are thinking of fleeing to is almost 100% likely to be having its own struggles with maintaining its democracy.

Just keep that in mind: this struggle is so global that anywhere you go might not actually solve your problem.

It would be more like buying yourself time.

I think I've finally put my finger on why social media feels bad but the Internet feels good

The Internet was great when it was a tool for matching people to have highly specific conversations with; it has become less and less good when it's become a broadcast medium to say something to everyone

People at every level of our hobby need to be talking about this, and contacting their member of Congress to register their anger:
I'm so concerned for the fate of the hobby electronics industry in the US.

I have friends who run small online shops selling modern hobby retro gear and it feels like, at least for now, it's going to end in short order.

No one can absorb these tariffs.
