Today is the birthday of one of my heroes, Aaron Swartz (1986 2013).
It is thanks to him that we have Reddit and Creative Commons as we know them.
He fought for freedom of information and the internet.
He was a victim of corporate greed and a corrupt system: JSTOR & the US.

I was thinking I might have to write about the broad consensus in the finance community that we are in a crazy AI bubble, but mercifully @davekarpf.bsky.social has it covered -- with a nod to my Enron analogy from 25 years ago (thanks Dave).
Everyone agrees that we're currently in a dotcom era-like AI bubble. People disagree what sort of bubble it is.
There are 3 stories one can tell about the dotcom crash: a startup story, a telecom story, and an accounting fraud story.
My take: it's giving Enron

Am wondering if all of those suddenly deciding they’re against communities living “parallel lives” might reconsider their support of religious schools? Or indeed private ones?

This is a fascinating and scary little video. And what South Korea is experiencing is only slightly ahead of where the UK and many advanced economies are.
Without immigration, we are FUCKED. I mean TOTALLY FUCKED. Yet all parties compete to stop migration. It's madness.

This is incredible. Love it. What a load of nonsense. We thought school league tables were bad.
Honestly, it is absurd to publish a league table with confidence intervals so wide that a single trust could be in either the top 10 or bottom 10
Those confidence intervals in full!

There are few things in the world guaranteed to make you feel better about leaving teaching than a new Ofsted framework. Good luck folks, same 💩 different headings. And no extra workload apparently - yeah right.
