Another passel of new followers (who are all of you listening to my ramblings?), so a repeat of my rules: no racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, or religious bigotry. The Confederates were traitors who fought for slavery & deserve a punch. “Equality for all” in my bio means exactly that.

Finally feeling human. Yesterday was a daze after not getting home from work until 0600 (we had a late private function). The good news is, @drjchernov.bsky.social, our daughters, & I made the pilgrimage to the Altar of Birria in Jackson Heights to pick up dinner.

No, I’m not in the Matrix. This is a representation of our dinner rush tonight. Each blue square is one table, with the number of guests in black. Gonna need some roller skates.

Any veterans in NYC & need dinner plans next Tuesday?

Suffering brown people don’t register with an administration that doesn’t even see them as human beings. The cruelty, as we’ve seen since January, is often the point.

My hot take: I’d like to not worry about this administration’s collective Islamophobia causing them to have a mental breakdown because of my city’s mayor-elect, leading to a red state’s National Guard & masked DHS patrolling Times Square & disappearing brown people. But I do worry about this.

This is the face of a cat who desperately wants to get back at Miss Kim, but even his limited intellect knows there are dire consequences for swatting at, scratching, and/or biting our girl.

On my way to the early voting location, a man in a red MAGA hat told me to vote for Sliwa, then asked what my hat said. He didn’t like the answer.
New favorite hat just dropped, though 2 days too late for No Kings. Reckon I should be satisfied with the puzzled looks of my Trump supporting neighbors instead.

I know, wrong city, but Stringer Bell speaks for millions of New Yorkers when he famously said, “I’d like to see a motherfucker try.”
TL;IR: they think they can invoke the Insurrection Clause given his anti-ICE protests and have Congress vote to disqualify him; other Republicans want to look into having Bondi strip away his citizenship. 🫤

Halloween weekend going home on the LIRR when you work on Saturday is truly the 2nd or 3rd rung of Dante’s hell. I must be old when my only reaction to young women’s skimpy costumes is, “Aren’t you cold? FFS put on a coat!” At least I have train beer.

It’s both asinine & obtuse to assert that educated big city liberals live in a bubble where we never interact with conservatives. Even in deep blue NYC they live next door, or in the apartment upstairs. You see them at the supermarket or deli. Our outrage is neither uneducated nor misinformed.
The educated liberal big city US folks outraged at Trump's renovation of Lincoln bathroom really need to scroll some Facebook of their less established relatives and friends to see what kind of aesthetic resonates with Trump's target audience.

Me, waiting for my train & enjoying my first sip of train beer: you’re celebrating a Hollywood depiction of a society almost wholly based on slavery & pederasty, but you do you.

If you’re a NYer, don’t just reply “stop.” Do what I did & reply with “the nepo baby serial sexual harasser who killed old people & resigned the governorship in disgrace needs to fuck all the way off.” I immediately received: “you have been successfully unsubscribed.”
Defend NYC, a pro-Cuomo super PAC operated by Trump adviser Jason Meister, is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on sending out this text message to NYC voters, hoping it'll convince them to vote Cuomo for mayor, new filings show.

I recently promoted an hourly supervisor to salaried manager, & watching her confidence skyrocket this week has chipped away at my cold dead restaurant heart. She deserved the promotion a while ago, but as I told her, I need an ass kicking woman on every management team I lead. Here, that's her.

Question: if there truly is such a thing as a god of baseball & the Blue Jays win the World Series, will the team visit 24 Sussex to give Prime Minister Carney a jersey?

As I walk to the bus, I’m struck by how many of my Palladino/Sliwa/Trump voting neighbors fly American flags at their houses (because freedom! and USA! USA!) but the flags themselves are stained & tattered & not lit at night & are the very definition of violations of the flag code, Title 4 USC.

I have had & currently have employees who receive SNAP benefits & their healthcare through the ACA. Mostly part time, but some full time like dishwashers. They aren’t lazy, or freeloading, or whatever racist oligarchic trope Republicans want to use to justify their continued bullshit shutdown.

1 of 2: During Noble Eagle, 2 of my less intelligent Joes decided that, since their hardass platoon sergeant wasn’t going to issue ammo for M16s while we guarded a (checks notes) already secure international airport, they’d just run over to the gun store in BFE & buy up a shit ton of .223 ammo.
fun fact: you can easily modify a .357 to fire 45-70 as long as you aren't attached to your extremities

Live long enough that your 8th grader becomes a policy wonk using terms for her debate competition like "regulatory authority" & "financial instability." Her subject? Arguing both pro & con for the benefits of presidential EOs. Not topical at all. Nosiree.
