I'm so thrilled to be able to share this book I have been working on for years!
THE WANDERERS follows immigration journalist @danielagerson.bsky.social and her wife as they trace their family’s intertwined past to unearth a history of how hundreds of thousands of Polish Jews survived Hitler’s Holocaust at the brutal hands of Stalin.

Re: Immigration

The Trump administration has (among other things):

- moved to end Haiti & Venezuela’s TPS designations
- shut down CBP One
- suspended Refugee Admissions Program

We've made a tracker to help see when these changes reduce labor supply: www.hamiltonproject.org/data/trackin...
Tracking work permit applications among eligible immigrants - The Hamilton Project
Tracking work permit applications can illuminate how changes in the pace of immigration are affecting labor supply.

++ rec this article by @andrewsilverstein.bsky.social for the @forward.bsky.social on the 1952 immigration law cited in the arrest. Its backers tried to bar survivors who evaded the Nazis in the USSR like my family. I did not imagine it would come up in the unjust arrest of a Green Card holder.

Jewish Holocaust survivors suspected of being Soviet sympathizers were subject to the 1952 McCarran-Walter Act.

Living in LA that is still burning, hearing the words "Burn Baby Burn" were harrowing.
Trump said at his inauguation he will "revoke the electric vehicle mandate." There's no such thing, but he is going to pull the US out of the Paris climate agreement and do everything he can to promote fossil fuels despite the pollution fueling recent disasters www.cnn.com/2025/01/20/c...
