I just had a good stomp along my tree lines. Solstice Tree candidates are looking thin and uneven due to drought. I see one top 40' up that might do, and the spot needs thinning. Won't know until I have it on the ground, maybe tomorrow.

I've been pumping out of my field pond via solar panels all summer. I don't regret that. This is the lowest I've ever seen it though. Cattails high and dry. Poor leaches.

I just saw somebody in orange out in my field. 'Tis the season and bambi has it coming, but the black and tan clothes I'm wearing need some color. My orange vest is here somewhere.

Our orbit is elliptical, which means the geometric cross-quarters are not on the calendar cross quarters. The geometric Samhain is November 9th this year.

I've got a dozen little buildings in my back yard, depending how you count. Two are slated for removal, but that's just to make room for more. Maybe I need to build in someone else's back yard.

I need to be able to weld thin metal truck body holes. The cheapest Harbor Fright stick welder wasn't doing it, but today I tried switching polarity. 1/16" 6013 rod, DC electrode negative on ~20ga. steel and it's welding without burning through.

I got the smallest, cheapest stick welder from Harbor Fright, and now I need to learn to weld thin stuff. My first attempt is about what you'd expect. I need a lot of practice, but I'm not dissatisfied.
