Samsung says it “plans to solidify its global No. 1 position in the consumer audio market” after its Harman subsidiary acquired the consumer audio division of Masimo. Harman/Samsung now owns audio brands Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Polk Audio, Marantz and others - in exchange for roughly $350 million in cash. Those brands will now sit in Harman’s portfolio alongside existing brands Harman Kardon, JBL and others.
