Ever been hustled in a shell game?
Imagine a protocol that does that with your sensitive data!

We’ve open-sourced our Go implementation of OHTTP (Oblivious HTTP) the protocol that hides who you are from what you send.

Link to the repo in the comments, hit us with a star while you're there.

HTTP, but make it binary.
This week we've open-sourced bhttp, a Go implementation of RFC 9292.

If you need HTTP requests/responses in compact binary form, give it a spin!

What do you think we use it for?

Trying out “vibe coding” building a static site generator. I hate writing CSS so it seemed like a good thing to try it on. First impression is that it’s extremely annoying if you have a specific vision of what you want things to look like.

Crazy how you can listen to an album when it releases and be underwhelmed, then revisit it like 2 years later and be like wtf this is amazing

“Deleting” 18F is the exact opposite of what you’d do if what you want is government efficiency. The alternative is farming projects out to the likes of Deloitte/Accenture who will charge like $200/hr per new grad webdev they throw at a project.

I have never encountered a configuration language that is not complete hell to work with. Does any exist?

It’s kind of amazing how humanity collectively built the most comprehensive and accessible information repository of all time, and then a handful of people decided to let loose a bunch of broken robots to stochastically pollute it for no clear reason whatsoever

Another Alex Garland banger with a killer soundtrack
Watching 28 Days Later the first time in many years and I forgot how huge the story is I completely forgot all of this. Even it being shot on DV-cam with "terrible quality" is perfect. Iconic scenes. Really really lives up to its role as reinventing zombie horror for modern era.

The new SDL3 GPU API looks super nice. Very excited to be able to write compute shaders on macOS without using Metal. Looking forward to giving it a try

Rewatched Annihilation yesterday. The soundtrack is so good, especially at the climax scene. Can’t think of many other movies that put music in the foreground like that to the point where it’s almost difficult to differentiate between soundtrack and sound effect

Working on a project involving 3D graphics recently has really pushed my intuitive understanding of linear algebra. Kind of funny that I feel way better at this stuff now than I did when I was studying physics and math in college

The HL2 documentary is a great window into what its like to lack the technological tools to fulfill your artistic vision, and having to invent them along the way. One of the coolest aspects of working with digital media IMO
