Incredible. Thank you @governor.ca.gov.
California is bringing on former CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez to launch the Public Health Network Innovation Exchange (PHNIX). PHNIX will work to move California and the nation forward despite the CDC’s retreat from science under the Trump admin.

I cannot tell you how grim the AI in higher ed situation is. Many of the students have completely surrendered to letting AI do their homework, badly, I might add. How do you fix this? Truly, what the hell do we do, beyond what grading can address, which isn't a solution?

Actually encouraging if true.
"Twenty-three Democratic attorneys general now gather on near-daily Zoom calls at 8 AM Pacific, which means the East Coast officials are already on their third coffee. They divide responsibilities and share templates for lawsuits they’ve been drafting since last spring."

True enough. And the Trump administration’s newly announced policy directions—if implemented—will only serve to reverse the progress that’s been made.
This crisis arose from 45 years of really mistaken policies, where we underinvested in affordable housing...health care, mental health care...And when it takes 45 years to create a crisis, it's unrealistic, unfortunately, to think it can be ended overnight," says Dr. Margot Kushel.
Homelessness in LA drops for the first time in years, bucking a nationwide trend

Trump/Musk and the entire GOP has spent the last four months systematically liquidating disease cure research in the United States. Lots of critical cure studies shuttered mid-way through. Research shutdown everywhere. It's all hands on deck to prevent new treatments for cancer, ahlzeimers etc.
You start to get why they're the pro-cancer party
Markwayne Mullin: "It's interesting the timing of them releasing the cancer. It seems like since the Hur tapes were released, they're like, 'Hey wait, it might be a good time to distract the American people and talk about his cancer.'"

Talked with a Jewish American I've known ++ time. I expressed my dismay at the rise of anti-Semitism.

His reply, "I'm okay. I'm most worried about how our federal administration is using the guise of working against anti-Semitism to instead destroy other people and our constitution."
