Anti-fascistic software is made possible by pro-labor licensing.

I've been trying to write this piece for years. Every time I get started I'm just overwhelmed with paralyzing visions of the FOSS commentariat accusing me of WrongThink.

But I'm tired and we urgently need to get our shit together.
Open Source Power
We have to talk about open source licensing.

Sunbow caught #hiking the Howe Sound Crest trail with @tjofthegreen.bsky.social this August. Wasn’t sure the camera would capture it but it did work.

Trying the local models in the Apollo iOS app recommended by @chadkoh.com. Had it search for Canadian news. It seems pea producers are facing tariff challenges, making it difficult to replace aging submarines.

In preparation for various projects I've been putting together an @astro.build + @atproto.com login starter: tangled.org/@daffl.xyz/a... - no database (or other storage) needed and hopefully fully web standard (and edge runtime) compliant eventually.

The point for Canada was that counter tariffs ultimately just hurt the people but making it legal (again) to fix your own tractor or reverse engineer a proprietary file format or API for compatibility is where it does hurt the mega corporations that are supporting all this.
The EU law about reverse engineering being legal for compatibility doesn't get enough use or coverage IMO.

Lots of great takeaways from seeing Cory Doctorow talk about Enshittification yesterday. One that stuck out for me was using right-to-repair and repealing DRM laws as a sovereignty tool.
