Sunbow caught #hiking the Howe Sound Crest trail with @tjofthegreen.bsky.social this August. Wasn’t sure the camera would capture it but it did work.

Trying the local models in the Apollo iOS app recommended by @chadkoh.com. Had it search for Canadian news. It seems pea producers are facing tariff challenges, making it difficult to replace aging submarines.

Lots of great takeaways from seeing Cory Doctorow talk about Enshittification yesterday. One that stuck out for me was using right-to-repair and repealing DRM laws as a sovereignty tool.

@tangled.org Was looking forward to create a new repo with some actual code but all I'm getting is "Failed to announce repository creation." when trying to create it.

@leaflet.pub Noticed the IP address is showing twice when setting up a custom publication domain. Worked great otherwise. Would be nice to be able to delete the test domain I added.

Did the Howe Sound Crest Trail last week. A multi day adventure out in the woods only a 20 minute drive from Vancouver.

One of the great things about the alps is that you can always get food and drinks on the mountain. Otto-Mayr-Hütte says "No we don't have WiFi but loads of Schnaps". Pretty good views, too.

Große Schlicke, Austria. The alps on one side, the lakes and towns around Neuschwanstein castle on the other.

At home in Germany. Helped install more solar panels, now relaxing on the patio on the wooden bench I grew up on.

I first saw Faun over 20 years ago at a small medieval festival in my home town in Germany. Glad they made their way to Vancouver.

Started using @zed.dev as my main editor last week. It's fast, has Intellisense that works and supports local models. Made me realise how janky VSCode (and its billion dollar forks) have actually gotten.

It was nice out there yesterday, too.

After many days (and nights) outside in the Canadian mountains I finally got to (safely) encounter a wild bear friend 🐻 skipping down a snowy trail. We both went our merry ways after this picture.

Cypress falls is one of my favourite hikes to take people that are visiting. It's short, not very difficult and has many of the best BC hiking things from moss to big trees to a creek, waterfalls and a car wreck.
