Exacto, particular es una forma vieja de decir privado que ha perdurado. Sospecho que de gobierno, pero es pura especulación, pudo venir de cuando el gobierno se hizo cargo de la educación pública y no eran instituciones de caridad o religiosas. Chile igual usa particular para las escuelas privadas.

mastodon's timed mutes are one of the best features of that platform that I want over here. I use them all the time -- they make Discourse so much more ignorable.
