i kinda can't help but feel like this "old songs become hits" trend isn't just how streaming gets counted by Billboard. when the labels relied on sales, having a hit off an album we all already owned would be a far weaker revenue driver compared to a new hit. but now they pay the same.

for as much anxiety as i have about attacks on trans rights, there's a certain floor of public support i don't think can be organically eroded because by the time the right started trying to make "pronouns in bio, disregard" a thing, pronoun sharing was already common in most gaming shops near me.
