Same, lady.
Is the pronunciation of “Qatar” a Mandela effect or am I just dumb? When was the shift from rhyming with guitar to sounding like cutter?

Listening to Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary. Just like his first book, Poop Potatoes on Mars, a pure nerd adventure — all math and science and quippy dialogue. Looking forward to the movie.

Saw some clips from last night. WWE looks like AI now. Cowboy Brock, high-hair Punk, soulless noise.

The architects of doom: “Why aren’t they rioting in the streets? We’re doing everything possible to spark chaos. We need martial law before the mid-terms to secure our forever regime! Why is everyone still so…calm?”

Some MAGA dipshit, probably: “I have an idea!”

THC gummies and drinks face ban under provision in government spending bill
A little-noticed provision tucked into the federal spending bill signed by President Trump could upend the THC industry.

This is a real deep dork niche post for #horror #filmsky to nod silently to: In ep3 of Welcome to Derry, the dinner scene at the Hanlon’s seemed to be a deliberate echo of the dinner at the Mills’s apartment in Seven.

Now watching Rock N Roll HoF. The wife is not happy that you cannot pause, rewind, or fast forward the livestream. “I can’t do this live.” Sorry Bad Company.

How about a system that caps billionaire wealth (let’s say at $3 to 5B, still an absurd amount of $$) and redirects wealth beyond the cap into essential programs (determined by Congress) and incentivized by giving a seat on a national advisory board. Contain and operationalize the oligarchy.

Ozymand.
Ozymand.
Does whatever an Ozy can.
See his works, any size.
Commands all; the bragging kind.
Look out!
Here comes the Ozymand.
There once was a king, Ozymand
Who bragged about all he’d command.
Trying to fill his foes with fright he
Said “Look on my works, ye mighty!”
But now it’s all trunkless legs and sand.
I heard there was a statue tall
That sneered at folk and commanded all
But you don't really care for symbols do ya
It goes like this the feet the fist
The head that fell the aim that missed
The long lost king whose name was Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymandias
Ozymaaaaandias

One problem with the energized youth vote in the US is that a lot of that energy comes from kids newly 18 and eager to vote but who realize too late that they are away at college on Election Day and can’t vote where they are. (We’ll get you that absentee ballot next time, Junior)

Revisiting Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, reminded of this improbably timeless description of the/a President: …always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it.

Don’t panic.
