On the hellsite as Cowboy logic. Alberta Canada, David Cymbaluk
"Killed by law enforcement during detention" is an interesting euphemism for an extra-judicial execution. He was eliminated by the Kremlin (or its stooges) because he was inconvenient and may have become a threat in the future.

Brilliant! Because she has an abundance of friends, she thinks everyone does. It does not occur to her that the people who are lonely are lonely because they have no friends who will show up if they are invited.

One can't disentangle the discussion from the national character. There have been reports that even members of the presidential guard have to work second jobs to pay their bills, but they still keep showing up for work. The question is whether they will defend Putin if a real threat emerges.

Describing his politics as populism is a gross mischaracterization. He is pandering to a vocal minority, which also makes many traditional conservatives very uncomfortable.

That's the thing though, Trump doesn't worry about legal hoops, he just acts. The ability to act without regard to the law is an expression of power, the unwillingess to act because of the law is an expression of weakness.

And this is the thing that really fucking annoys me, like, that’s all these guys care about, money, money, money, they should be taxed into oblivion
At least Ellison will make lots of money while none of the national security concerns are addressed. Priorities

And they would like Ukraine putting a whole in the side and lighting them on fire even less.

Regardless of what you, or anybody, thinks about the gov'ts of Georgia and Turkiye, Ukraine is in no position to commit an act of war against either. Just as Russia was not in a position to commit an open act of war against Romania or Bulgaria. Actions that are deniable as accidental are different.

Of course, because the Kremlin won't try to hack the system and ensure their candidate wins. You only have to rig the system the first time to ensure that you can control the system going forward.

It may be damaged beyond the ability of Ru to repair it as it is. A direct hit may have only created localized damage as the blast energy is abosbed by the collapsing hull and internal compressable air pocket, rather than cracking the pressure hull over a larger area.

One could argue that a democratic country where the people choose their leaders and a capitalist economy where people buy shares in publicly traded companies fulfill the requirements of Marx of control being exercised by the people instead of the elite.

Depth charges don't work by actually hitting a sub, they only need to explode sufficiently close to it to sink it. That is what is being stated here; the pressure hull was compromised at the rear and some compartments have been flooded.

Yes, and it was difficult to believe that Gerasimov would not tell Putin how many troops were needed for the task. And then we all found out a month into the war that the military was not included in the planning for the invasion.

Another contributor to this is their worldview where all the European countries are just vassals of the US who will do what they are told by POTUS. This attitude appears to be in effect from the reported pressure the Kremlin is putting on Trump to take the money away from the Europeans.

Just as Russia would not attack ships heading to and from UA when they were sailing in Romanian and Bulgarian territorial waters, Ukraine is not going to attack Ru ships when they are in Georgian or Turkish territorial waters.

well, the good news is, he didn't declare war. the bad news is that the president is a raving lunatic. 🤷‍♂️

This would be an Alberta pileup which might mean about 10 vehicles have damage (some severe) and the rest came to a stop with nowhere to go, with a fender bender at the back to create difficulty for the police in clearing the highway.

A win/win situation for Putin. Either he gets his money, or the Transatlantic relationship is severed. Trump cares about nothing more than money, if he doesn't get "his" share he might actually try to pull the US out of NATO.
