The people suffering the most from climate breakdown are usually the ones who have done the least to cause it, while the super rich most responsible rake in obscene profits – including fossil fuel companies

They must be made to pay for the damage they cause
Fossil fuel firms may have to pay for climate damage under proposed UN tax
Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation could also force ultra-rich to pay global wealth tax

What Trump can’t stop: Renewable energy is growing and setting world records
Wind and solar power are expanding across the world’s major economies, as fossil-fuel consumption stagnates. Meanwhile, the US president derides wind turbines as ‘those damn things’

A series of European court cases converged on the same conclusion: climate warming emissions from burning fossil fuels *must* be counted as an environmental impact of extraction of those fuels

Oil and gas companies can't close their eyes to what happens to fuel once it's sold

This is overt racism. Full stop. There’s no ‘misinterpretation’ and no excuse. This is who he is, who he’s always been, and why he should never be anywhere near power again. And there’s a reason the tapes from The Apprentice have never been released.

How could I have possibly known that Peter Mandelson couldn't be 100% taken at his word, says Keir Starmer, about a man whose public nicknames include 'the Prince of Darkness' and 'the Dark Lord'

By the time Starmer is replaced this summer, we'll have had two wasted years, in which a country crying out for transformation instead got more of the same, or even worse where environmental legislation is concerned, and a high possibility of Farage running the next government.
Thanks Keir.

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

And you can help.

I spoke at an event this week where the room voted almost unanimously that MPs & Lords must be covered by the new offence of Misleading the Public

Imagine if this went though

And this is where we need your help…
