Brand new here and hoping to find a little less craziness than the other platforms. I'm a podcast aficionado, with the likes of Ezra Klein, The Interview, 99PI, FHBP, RadioLab, TAL, and so many more. Here's a pic of my bookshelf; ask me about it lol.
Im a small part of a large team bringing four passive, affordable homes to Dover, Delaware.

This was made possible with a unique team of stakeholders and a grant for gap funding to spearhead this project. See more;

This is the conservatism is was brought up in. Not perfect, certainly flawed, but still Neo-Liberal in its approach to economics. I feel like I did my part studying history and economics, and it’s a helpless feeling watching us march right back into our mistakes from the past. “Doomed to repeat”

A great opinion podcast piece by Ezra Klein. I don’t know if I completely align with his version of politics, I do appreciate how he can get good thoughts out of his guests, especially the conservative intellectuals.

Worried about wildfires this year? You should be. Preparedness is the absolutely most effective way to mitigate disasters, and the firing of thousands of employees and hiring freeze means that there is almost no one to prepare. WHEN wildfires start (not if), suppression will be a mess.
IMTs are quietly talking about what the current political environment means for this year's wildland fire suppression efforts, but it deserves a larger and more public consideration. 1/

The real news of this story is:

“1,000 residences, including approximately 200 permanently affordable apartments, 60,000 square feet of Class A office space, 50,000 square feet of retail space, and two state-of-the-art Passive House public schools.”

It’s true: land zoning regulations were put in place by progressives… who were also racist snobs. They got it wrong. Liberals, libertarians, conservatives, socialists, all of us should be able to agree that most zoning is way too restrictive. Legalize housing!

WILLFUL IGNORANCE: there's an -ology for that.

How to people get duped?

What's the truth?

How do you talk to others with seemingly very different realities?

We discuss in this freshly updated Agnotology ep with Stanford prof Dr. Robert Proctor:

@repauchincloss.bsky.social was really refreshing to listen to on Ezra Klein today. If a version of his politics is where the Democratic Party is headed, then I have more optimism for the future. I especially liked his take on social media and healthcare reform.

Excited about my new (used) book on craftsman architecture.

I’ve been studying classicism as of late, and now look to expand my understanding of the Craftsman style.

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with several of our coastal Mayors about the challenges and opportunities our communities face in Eastern Sussex. I’m grateful to each of them for their dedication to serving our communities and their advocacy in addressing infrastructure investments.
