Thrilled to see James P Allison present at #IUIS2025. His work on CTLA-4 and immune checkpoint blockade fundamentally changed the way we treat cancer, putting immunotherapy on the map, which has saved so many lives. What a wonderful way to end this conference.

Excellent presentation by #IUIS2025 rising star Deborah Burnett @debburnett.bsky.social touching on the theory of clonal redemption in B cells.
Congrats Debbie! 🥳

Phenomenal work by Sophie Shen @sophieshen.bsky.social and Carola Vinuesa @carovinuesa.bsky.social
on how TCF1 and LEF1 promote B-1a cell homeostasis and regulatory function, presented by Carola at #IUIS2025. Read more in the paper released yesterday in Nature: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

In a new preprint we use deep learning on lineage trees to infer the functional form of the relationship between affinity and fitness that controls antibody evolution in germinal centers: arxiv.org/abs/2508.09871 🧵
Inference of germinal center evolutionary dynamics via simulation-based deep learning
B cells and the antibodies they produce are vital to health and survival, motivating research on the details of the mutational and evolutionary processes in the germinal centers (GC) from which mature...

Explored the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, “Museum of Art History” in Vienna.
Many beautiful pieces by masters, ceiling art and marvellous architecture by Karl Hasenauer and Gottfried Semper.
The building itself is a work of art.

Honoured to receive the ACT/NSW 7News Young Achiever Award for Academic Achievement (also sponsored by Western Sydney University). It was a bit of a chaotic night flying back from Hawaii! A big thank you to my Dad for meeting me in Sydney and driving me back home!
