This is what ours used to do - she loved to be pushed around on this rolling ladder. OH started it. She would see him near it and run to jump on and demand that he take her for a ride. She'd be mugging for pets all the while.

I had the honor of hosting this floofus for most of her long life. Miss her so much!

I drove past SNA on the way to work for years; sometimes they were way lower than this. Always loved going right under one when they were just off the runway.
A southbound view of the 405 Freeway in Orange County, CA, 14 lanes wide, just north of John Wayne International Airport. This view from the overpass shows a medium-sized jet hanging in the air over the freeway, very low, on approach to the runway just out of frame to the right. Actor Paul Bettany in his role of Dr. Maturin, from the movie Master and Commander. He is nestled rough, bird-poop covered rocks, with a giant hat and glasses on, and a leather-bound notebook and pen in had. The good doctor is also a noted naturalist and is busily recording species observed from this spot, which is in the Galapagos Islands.

A breach in the canopy of clouds - a fallstreak hole. #SciArt #SciArtSeptember
A photo of a fallstreak hole. This phenomenon occurs when a object (such as an aircraft) punches through a layer of supercooled clouds. This causes the water vapor to suddenly evaporate or freeze, leaving a noticeable, visible hole in the clouds. In this image, the cloud sheet is very thin at the top of the frame, showing blue sky. It is solid white as the clouds dip behind trees and the rooftop of a house. In between, the smooth gradient is interrupted by a large, elliptical area of blue sky. A few bits of cloud are still visible inside the cleared area.

Day 1: Islet.
POV: We are on one! A study of sea and sky.

Two posts in a row. The first is FeralSara's recommendation for the movie SISU, in which she warns it features gore galore. Following some replies, we see a photo from Bud Simpson, which is 6 punnets of peppers from the City Market in Kansas City, MO. With the suggestion of gore, the red peppers, at a glance, look like gooey, coiled entrails or something similarly gross.

Starting the weekend with the same energy as this bee pretending it's a skipper.
A spike of purple salvia is flowering. At the top, two light orange skipper butterflies in soft focus are lined up, one above the other, enjoying the nectar. Below them, we have a sharply-focused bumblebee doing the same thing. All three insects are evenly spaced, as if someone organized them, but it's just a lucky arrangement of flowers.

A Beanie Baby kitty sitting on a messy desk, a gift from a dear friend. The kitty is mostly white, with a black patch on the forehead between the kitty's left eye and ear. The eyes are large and blue and the nose, whiskers and mouth are soft pink. It's a lovely reflection of the much-missed kitty that we're remembering.

Oh no, I had a budgie who did the exact same thing! Repeatedly!

If this one dish was empty, she would work it till it crashed to the floor. Every time. You can see it in the background, the yellow one, all askew.

She loved to take a splashy bath.

She is perched on top of her cage, all the feathers fluffed out to dry, and her head is tipped toward the dish, as if she'd deciding whether to go back in the water. Knowing her, she probably did.
