Donald Trump's military parade stank, and now he's madder than ever.

"Well, Americans, I hope you’re happy with yourselves. You really let President Donald Trump down."

Wrote up something about Techdirt's recent coverage, and why (whether we like it or not) we need to be a "democracy blog" now, rather than just a "tech" blog (not that we've ever been just a tech blog).

This story is *the* story and it impacts everything else.

Why Techdirt Is Now A Democracy Blog (Whether We Like It Or Not)
While political reporters are still doing their view-from-nowhere “Democrats say this, Republicans say that” dance, tech and legal journalists have been watching an unfortunately recogn…

Christmas movie update (maybe the last one?): "Home Alone" is still charming, no matter how much crap I talked about it when I was 20, "Red One" was meh, "Carry-On" was fun, but TSA as unironic good guys gives me the creeps 📽

This rule is relic of 19th-century attitudes towards labor and human value. It's beyond time to end it
The US Department of Labor introduced a rule today which, if made official, will lead to the end of companies paying disabled people less than mininimum wage on the basis that they're disabled. My latest for @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Companies can pay disabled people below minimum wage. The Biden admin wants to change that.
A proposal from the Department of Labor recommends the end of certificates that allow a subminimum wage for disabled people.

This is especially true if you're in leadership. Ask the question in the spaces where you're invited and your accessibility SMEs aren't. You don't need to know the answer to have an impact
Get in the habit of bringing up accessibility at meetings, in stand-ups, and in demos. Bring up things you've done to address accessibility. Likewise, don't be afraid to ask, "Have we tested this on a keyboard?" or "What's the experience like on a screen reader?"
