Sorry, I can’t agree. Much as I hate Trump and everything he represents.

The BBC has acted irresponsibly and given oxygen to extremism. That’s extremely dangerous for all of us. They’ve given far too much voice to the Far Right. This is what needs to change.

Appreciated. I’ve been a GP member for four years (or so).

I want you (us!) to be successful. However I also want to avoid you having to do everything. Because you can’t. Nobody can.

You need to assemble a team of the best available technical talent and knowledge base. Lay members aren’t enough.

It can’t defeat them but most mode shift to cycling comes from buses, not cars. It’s important to keep cyclists using buses.

Exactly right. I haven’t owned a car for 31 years. I rely on trains to carry my bike on longer journeys, usually to places without micro-mobility services on hand. It can be stressful, especially around bank holidays when there’s competition for space. I see a lot of commuters with bikes locally.

Yes, sadly. I did think it referred to “consecutive” terms, not terms separated by another president. It’s pretty strict: even part-served terms count, it seems!

Never mind. I like the idea in principle so I’ll leave it there. I hope the Dems find someone just as good. Not sure about Kamala…

I wonder what difference electric assistance makes?

A velomobile is definitely heavier than a regular cycle, though. The orange dot needs to move right (or the regular cycle left).

Correct to say that, on the flat or downhill, velomobiles give more speed for calories/watts expended. Hopeless up hills.

Is the rule about 2 terms in total, or 2 successive terms?

Spot on Zack!

A party of Hope. Exactly what we all need at the moment.

Either @barackobama.bsky.social or Michele should stand as President. I admire the Obamas’ defense of decency and respect for other people and nations. When I watch and hear them speak, I have hope for your nation; I think of Roosevelt. Nobody’s perfect but they come pretty close.

Yet another day of it. Yesterday the level crossing broke down at Poole. I turned round and went home.

It’s getting to a point where the trains can no longer be trusted. Some disruption is inevitable, of course, but every single day?!

My travel has been mostly free for months now #DelayRepay.

I’m surprised. I had great hopes when the council changed hands!

I’ve cycled through Wandsworth a few times. It’s a horrible experience-not one I’d choose. The place is utterly car-shafted.

Meanwhile my local hardware shop has closed with the owner blaming “lefties in government”.

Never mind that he was actually a grumpy old sod who just moaned about everything.

Or that Trump is, and Fascrage will, bust the economy to keep themselves and their dodgy billionaire mates rich.

What will / can you do to bring the Treasury in line? Seems to me they have a lot of bullying power to scupper the best-laid plans…

The World Naked Bike Ride website is… not exactly joyful. But here it is. Something to build on.

Excellent. Do more naked bike rides. Stage them every summer week. Build it up and build it again.

Influence every other city to do the same.

If Mike Johnson and his hideous Fascist mates from Hell think riding a bike naked is a threat to their increasingly autocratic government, bring it on.

You are doing well, Zack. There are two “class” streams to bring aboard - the left-behind working class *and* the middle class whose prospects are threatened by AI and economic decline against a shared backdrop of inflation and cost of living.

The obscenely wealthy can get the next round.

It just begs belief. And at the next election the Far Right will rip to shreds the rest of the economy and this Titanic will be well and truly sunk. Woe betide any sensible person still having to live here, playing violins on the deck.
