Food love today. Lentils!

Blanch a quantity of puy lentils, then strain.

Finely dice an onion. Fry slowly till soft.

Add the lentils. And a third of a bottle of extra virgin olive oil (yes!) Cover with vegetable (or any) stock.

Salt and pepper - generous pinch.

Bring to a simmer - 45-60 mins…

Yumbles. The new hipster fave? 😂

Yes, indeed. Footpath sliced by the M3. Pedestrians have to share a long dark narrow ledge through a bridge with a stream that floods lavishly every winter.

This has happened.
The junction of Stratford High Street and Carpenter’s Road *is* DANGEROUS.

A few years ago I took a video of an entirely predictable left hook conflict which v nearly injured a cyclist and showed it at a TfL LCDS design course I was attending. No surprise there were gasps…

That’s a really bad copy of the Danish design! Also very dangerous indeed. Do your engineers actually want people to die?!

The Danish equivalent is tightly defined. Cycles share the lane with slow moving right turning cars to avoid right-hooks. Strict liability and pedestrian priority make it work.

And then this arrived. Yumbles!

A very tasty whizzed up mixture of red berries and ginger. In an old olive jar. With a re-usable stainless steel straw. In a vegan cafe, Bournemouth.

Very woke. Up yours Farage, Musk and Trump!

Also via the same source; this is very dark indeed. This time, not at all funny.

Bring to the boil and simmer to cook the lentils. Season to taste.

Blitz with a stick blender till smooth.

Add the white fish (or leave fish out and replace with more lentils if vegan)

Simmer till the fish is just cooked (5-10 mins)

Serve in bowls with sourdough rye bread.

Yumbles!

Marmalade making time!
3kg Seville oranges + lemons in two-thirds their depth in water; cook for 2hrs until soft.
Remove and de-pip - reserve pips. Slice peel and pith to small pieces 5mmx5mm.
Return to pan; add 5kg sugar (+ water only if needed).
Separately boil pips for 10 mins to release pectin…
