Ten pledges to LGBT+ Labour members and the wider LGBT+ community: 1. Fully inclusive LGBT+ Sex and Relationships Education for all children in the UK. I will campaign for: greater training and support for teachers; buffer zones to protect children, parents and staff from protests; and the removal of any exemptions for non-council maintained schools and an end of the parental right to remove children from these classes. 2. Trans rights and reforming the Gender Recognition Act. I will campaign to reform the Gender Recognition Act to introduce a self-declaration process and for the introduction of legal recognition for non-binary gender identities. I believe that trans women are women, that trans men are men, and that non-binary gender identities are valid and should be respected. 3. Tackling the rise in anti-LGBT+ hate crime. I will campaign for a change in the law on anti-LGBT+ hate crimes to bring them in line with hate crimes based on race and faith, by making them aggravated offences. 4. Healthcare system that supports the LGBT+ community. I will campaign for the provision and funding needed for: the full rollout of free PrEP across the UK; IVF treatment for lesbians, bisexual women, trans men and non-binary people; the reduction of waiting times for trans people to access hormones and surgery; and specific LGBT+ mental health services. 5. Supporting LGBT+ homeless people. I will campaign to ensure all plans to tackle the homelessness and rough sleeping crisis in the UK have specific provision tailored to understanding the needs and issues unique to LGBT+ homeless people who make up a disproportionate number of the current homeless people in the UK. 6. Ending Conversion Therapy. I will campaign for a complete ban on the archaic practice of conversion therapy throughout the UK, which believes that LGBT+ people can be ‘cured’. This is a harmful and dangerous practice. 7. LGBT+ rights globally. I will campaign to reform the cruel and inhumane rules for LGBT+ people …

four frame comics, that reads : Transphobia is often more tham a lack of education. It can also be an addictive ritual of reaffirming power over a group so marginalized that the perpetrators are most likely to get away with it. It's a training ground for normalizing atrocities and empowering entitled young men who see the rights of others as a threat to their dominance. Transphobes don't need to be educated on trans people's humanity. What they need is a lot of therapy.

I don’t think many actually realise how barbaric the welfare system is in this country.

Enforced poverty, constantly begging for the bare minimum, and constant worry that it will be taken away at the click of the fingers of the most privileged.

Whatever happens, ALL disabled people need to stick together.

That means we all need to fight against any proposed cuts, and not allow them to try and divide us.

Every disabled person is deserving of support. We shouldn’t ever make it into a “who is worse” competition.

That doesn’t mean you’re ashamed of it.
It doesn’t mean you’re “giving up”.
It doesn’t mean you’re ableist.

It means your disabilities are disabling, and that can be shit.
You’re allowed to hate that.

Why should a disabled person, who had to stop work, have to spend all their savings before they can access the support they need to survive, when an abled person who is working can save, and save, and save some more.

This is the definition of Ableism. The system favours ableds.

Nor is my ADHD.

This isn’t a debate, it’s my experience of my conditions.

Too many only say “We should support ND folk” because they want to “utilise [our] superpowers”

Imo that’s just as ableist & dismissive as anything else.

A disabled person can burn out without being in paid employment.
Just managing our health conditions can (often does) become totally overwhelming, takes nearly all our time, and burns us out.

Issue is we can’t have time off to recover.

Every person who needs it and is eligible should get PIP.

It shouldn't be "Oh well this person got denied but this other person who is 'less disabled' got accepted"...

It's not a competition. We shouldn't be punching downwards or sideways.

Punch up. Go after the system.
