But still to the game’s credit I got through pretty much all of it without needing a guide. I can seriously imagine being a kid in the 80’s and just getting lost in this game for hours, drawing maps and writing down clues from npc’s. In fact I think my dad actually did all that which is pretty cool.

The original Dragon Quest! This is gonna sound insane because the game is very simple, but this might be one of the most engaging rpg’s I’ve ever played. Every trek into the unknown feels like a genuine adventure, never sure what you’ll find, and for the nes secrets were very fair!*

Fuuuck it's actually peak. Genuinely one of the best modern survival horror games I've played... at least for a while. The item balance gets too generous later on and game is just too long. Actually scary a lot of the time which is rare for me to say. The story is... intact.
