I would like to agree with your statement, but believe Denmark is always pushed forward as an example of a centre/left government with harsh anti-migration policies that led to a decline of the far right parties. Is there a credible explanation for this?

An important lessons for the wider European debate to me is the - from political science completely unsurprising - dynamic that Starmer with his harsh anti-migration rhetoric is losing support amongst Labour/centre-left voters but also failing to (re)gain support from Reform/populist voters.
