The reason people think the Democratic Party doesn't actually stand for anything is because it doesn't.

Yes, its high time the Red States send the Guard into their Blue cities and clean up their messes too
Republican governors have sent National Guard troops to Democratic-led Washington, D.C., even though cities in their states all have higher rates of violent crime than the nation’s capital. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/01/u...

that's worked out so well for democrats so far, hasn't it?

lol
September 2, 2025 at 4:13 PM
ahem, SCOTUS

that's why not
The next Democratic president should declare that the National Emergencies Act and Article II of the Constitution allow him to:

•admit D.C. and Puerto Rico as states
•abolish ICE
•grant citizenship to any immigrant
•disband the 5th Circuit
•expand the Supreme Court

Seriously: Why the hell not?

'they're trying to stop our propoganda!'
Funding cuts to PBS and NPR, attempts to stop the Wall Street Journal from publishing, Colbert canceled.

Do not take a free press for granted. We need to fight for it.

Hello Bluesky, I've been told this app has become the place to go for common sense political discussion and analysis. So I'm thrilled to be here to engage with all of you.

It started out 'agree with me or you're a nazi' here, who is he kidding?
The replies on here may not be as racist as Twitter, but they damn sure are hateful.
Talk AI: FU, AI sucks go away
Talk Business: Go away
Talk Healthcare: Crickets.

Engagement went from great convos on many topics, to agree with me or you are a nazi fascist

to date, sanctions and aid to Ukraine has done nothing to soften Putin ... the idea that 'more' will be effective is laughable
“Difficult decisions lie ahead: Will Trump allow the U.S. to pressure Moscow—by toughening sanctions on Russia or increasing aid to Ukraine—to push Putin to soften his demands? Or will Trump once more defer to Putin and isolate Kyiv?” www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
Trump Gets a Taste of Putin’s Tactics
The Russian leader is offering few concessions in negotiations over Ukraine. How hard is Trump willing to push for the peace he promises?

cope harder
Trump remains enamored of Musk, seeming to relish the fact that the world’s wealthiest person is working for *him*

Trump also believes that Musk is willing to take public pushback for controversial actions, allowing the president himself to avoid blame www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
Elon Musk Is President
The world’s richest man has declared war on the federal government, and his influence appears unchecked.

not the intent, but rather malicious compliance

we've seen and will continue to see a lot of this

the resistance is dead, did you not get the memo?
January 28, 2025 at 2:41 PM
this is why Trump is President today
You get Trump got more votes? Trump is only one part of the problem. The even bigger problem is the 71 million problems who voted for him.

Does he mean 'like the democrats did to Twitter and Facebook?'
What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently

'it just hurts so much that they were right all along those five months and after having been betrayed by Biden I have no retort but this'

'Why should we follow the rules? Why should we be different?'

see what you see when they drop the cloak?
A lot of people think everything will work out if we just play by the rules but don’t seem to recognize that rules only matter when everyone agrees to follow them and, well, that isn’t our present reality.

Because it DOES give them an excuse to blame Democrats for Trump's absolutely outrageous acts that he has planned all along

and for that you should be pissed off at Joe Biden instead of making excuses

'To us, principles don't matter, only politics'
At this point we care not a jot what MAGA thinks of Hunter being pardoned.

Democracy is going to be just fine

and 36% is a solid sample size, its unlikely there would be much different with more turnout
36 percent of registered voters couldn't be bothered to show up in the most consequential election of their lifetimes.

And now we'll all lose the democracy that they've wasted.

"that'll provide legitimacy to our bubble"
Twitter didn't gain relevance by being the biggest platform, it gained relevancy through the quality of the content and individuals. The main goal for everyone here should be to encourage global defender, media, and establishment accounts to transition to #BlueSky. That'll provide legitimacy.

If your analysis of why democrats lost the election does not start with 'what was attractive about the other side' then you will not find the answer to why you lost the election, and are likely to lose the next one too
