Really interesting study
This is interesting — a recent study of mode share (the % share of transportation trips by car, transit, walking, biking etc) relative to city size and income levels in almost 800 cities in 61 countries. Interesting results. HT @davidzipper.bsky.social

This would be a really great idea to go with Exeter Christmas market. Could use an empty shop to keep the volunteers warm.. #Exeter

#Exeter needs these too
I’m involved with a pro active transport - cycling / bus use group.

We have commissioned adds for back of our local buses. They are now driving around - great. I’m thinking other regions should use them too.

Worth a read to make sense of why roads feel narrower and parking with a small car is a nightmare as big SUVs choose spaces adjacent to you.
Cars are getting 1cm wider every two years. That may not sound much, but over time it adds up, and they're showing no signs of slowing down 😬

That's #carspreading. Our new campaign is calling on city leaders to make parking policies fairer by varying costs based on the size of a car.

Great map, even at a local scale.
The interactive cycle map in Europe.
(Open street Map, Open data common ODbl & CC).
At low zoom levels it is intended for overviews of national cycling networks; at higher zoom levels it should help with planning which streets to cycle on, where you can park your bike and more.

So true. How many car drivers say they would catch the bus instead if it wasn't always late due to traffic?
A friendly reminder that if you’re in traffic, you ARE traffic.

And mobility is about space.

The Government risks locking in car-dependency if it continues to promote new housing in rural or peripheral areas. NEF's new report on #CarDependentSprawl constructs a Car Dependency Index and demands a fresh think from government.
