This is a coup! U.S. Institute for Peace called the DC police on the Musk team members in an effort to stop them from trespassing because the institute has control of its own building and the land it sits on. But instead, the DC police allowed them to enter and kicked out the institute’s officials.

It’s going to be well below 0F and 40mph winds this weekend, so it’s probably a good weekend for editing more of the photos from my last trip to the North Shore. Here’s another sunrise from that trip.

There is a j-shaped channel worn in the basalt, with the top of the j angled 45 degrees to the right so that the inner point of the j points toward the horizon where the sun is coming up. The lake is calm, allowing the light in the sky to be reflected on the lake's surface. On the horizon, dark, heavy cloud cover gives way to partially cloudy skies filled with thin, puffy clouds. Golden light from the sun appears in the center above the clouds, illuminating the fluffy clouds in a pale orange and peach light.
