If they fire people for that they'll get sued, I imagine. Sucks to be someone who works there, mostly. Private equity firms just destroy businesses to make a quick buck and they'll probably hemorrhage employees soon enough anyway

It'd be nice if corporate raiders caved to public opposition, but I think the only thing that would stop them would be what i mentioned elsewhere in the comments (that they should all unionize immediately)

yeah, i'm a night-driving glasses 48 year old, i can see my phone OK at handheld distance but not several feet away which is where everything would turn into unintelligible stars.
my glasses do fix this, but i don't wear them at home.
light mode makes my eyes/brain hurt, i am a cave person

my dark mode background was black and the white on blue on black looked like ass
the white on black on black looks much better. could be a bit toned down but it's not too far off from what the apple weather app icon looks like in dark mode

guy with astigmatism here, dark mode is strongly my preference? idk.
i am unironically happy about the dark mode bsky icon (though i think the butterfly could be a bit less bright, aesthetically it is miles better than the flashbang it was before)

Walgreens employs 311,000 people per their website so if you assume 2/3 of them are hourly and making $15 an hour (conservative), they’re losing 6 paid holidays so 48*15=$720/yr/employee, that’s $144,000,000 a year of pay they’re just deciding to keep

that's the idea usually. big layoffs to briefly juice the value of the company by making it look more profitable than it is, then flip it and/or strip it for parts
