a very common spouse thing is where they ask you to call a business and ask a question, you do so, you relay the answers, but then they hit you with the 14 other questions they wanted you to ask and the only conclusion is "uh sounds like you should have made this call"

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

In advance of the Oscars tonight: a lot of comedy heroes let you down. They become unfunny/bitter/closed minded. Conan is the exception. He has grown & evolved & is funnier than he’s ever been. He’s also an extremely kind and lovely human. Just a sincere post to say: Conan rules.

@tequilamjohnson.bsky.social gets a standing ovation in rural Tennessee as she points to the resilience of Black folks throughout history to say Trump is not a hurdle that 🇺🇸 can’t overcome.

Remote work doesn't thwart productivity. It boosts focus.

Government workers are 12% more productive when randomly assigned to work from home. They're more efficient where it's quiet.

Most people aren't shirking from home. They're escaping distractions and long commutes.

I hear the phrase "Technology is moving so fast!" often used in a context of "that's why we should just do the thing I'm proposing".... but has there ever been a time where someone said "You know what? Technology is pretty chill right now" 😀
