I'll also share some analysis @csohate.bsky.social did regarding Islamophobia in the NYC mayoral election as it appeared on X/Twitter. This provides some more context on the broader landscape these attacks on CAIR occurred in.

And as Mamdani's campaign continued, the Center for Study of Organized Hate tracked over 35,000 examples of xenophobic and anti-Muslim content on X from June to October 2025.

This sentiment is shaped by political rhetoric, discriminatory policies that block pathways to lawful immigration, and the online amplification of Islamophobic and anti-immigrant narratives.

This follows trends highlighted in our recent report, which analyzed content between June 24 and October 31 and identified 35,522 original Islamophobic and xenophobic posts authored by 17,752 unique accounts on X.

In a climate of deepening polarization and rising political violence, such rhetoric becomes even more dangerous as it could create real risks for Muslim Americans and those perceived as Muslim.
