#2. Mock drafts a year out. We've just finished the 2025 NHL draft, and now we're getting 2026 draft articles. C'mon now. And it happens for every sport. I get it that sites need filler content, but this is such a waste of time for both writers and readers. It's sport's equivalent of fan fiction.

The game is way too fluid. DCs adjust after getting weeks of tape on opponents. Star players have down years, unhyped players emerge. Players get hurt, trades happen. There's a long list of reasons why drafting a player in August based off who his team will play in October is just foolish.
