Your local comic shop is open Wednesday and would love to see you in! You want your new releases with you for the holiday & your LCS would love to do a Wednesday/Thursday business in one day to not miss a beat. But ahead of that let’s see what we can see in this stack!

I wasn't into the Thor Lord of Asgard era at all & the Magni character means nothing to me, until Mortal Thor 4! What a truly surprising issue. It sets up to do the usual, but does something new. There's no such thing as a bad character, In the right hands any concept can become interesting!

I give you 1984’s UFO Kidnapped. A Canadian sci-fi feature presented on Nickelodeon starring Alasdair Gillis as Alasdair (also Alasdair on You Can’t Do That on Television). This may be where my aversion for UFOs, Alien life, etc comes from. It’s only 40 minutes but watch at your own risk.

I watched this sci-fi “movie” on Nickelodeon back in 1984, but had no idea what it was called. I remembered the end but not the name. @kennethwreid.bsky.social immediately knew the name & today I thought I would watch. I was NOT ready for how creepy this was. Does anyone else remember UFO Kidnapped?

However, when it comes to comics, I interact with a lot of 20-somethings who heard a guy explain it online so they’re good. There’s nuance & interpretation with comics so for me it’s no substitute. They can see me physically deflate. Take the next step & experience for yourself! You’ll be glad!
Whenever I say this, people get Really Mad, but it's true. Same of any other art, too. You have to read the book, watch the film, see the painting, listen to the song, whatever.

I'm sorry, but watching a video about it on YouTube is not enough. You have not experience the art.
"you have not played the game unless you've played the game" is one of my more annoying but unshakable opinions

I can’t tell you what an amazing issue this is. @kellythompson.bsky.social and @cleanlined.bsky.social knocked it out of the park.

ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN 15 - out in December.

One of the best series in comics hands down.

Get caught up on previous issues now before everyone else tries to do the same!

It took about three issues, but I have really warmed up to Absolute Flash. I like this Wally and the world around him. Based on what I saw in issue 9, I think this title is about to do something important that none of the other series will get into. This is the science series!

Dreadnok War in G.I. Joe is a lot of fun, but that was as bad of a hit as I've seen recently towards the end of the issue. No clue how that will play out. Could be Rock N' Roll all over again. Don't forget that this along with Transformers & Void Rivals makes up your complete Energon Universe diet!

Having new Powers issues in 2025 means a lot to me & I know its the same for others. I'm glad to be able to introduce this to new people as well as that first graphic novel too. Powers 25 issue 3 introduces us all to a very cool new character. @brianmbendis.bsky.social & @oeming.bsky.social are back

One World Under Doom ended & I need to re-read the whole thing. Doctor Doom is an important character to me since discovering him. Unfortunately, there's a critical point that I literally can't read due to the font/coloring. Neither could someone else. Also, there's an "after ads" scene to not miss!

BTS- bagley finished his pencils on Avengers 800. they are perfect bagley. I was even a bit verklempt as I polished the dialogue to reflect his choices. for those who were asking, this is a GREAT experience.
I’m back! Avengers 800! My first Marvel comic in many years & I reunite w/ my Ultimate Spidey partner Mark Bagley! "Thanks to everyone at Marvel for having me back for such an auspicious occasion. This is the 1st of some truly special Marvel projects that I will be part of in the near future.”

Star Trek Last Starship 2 got my attention. In the furthest future Starfleet has been nearly destroyed in the wake of The Burn from Discovery. A vessel with unconventional tech heeds the call to route the Klingons. Someone who may or may not be James Kirk is aboard. He doesn't know either!

I didn't think I would like Evangeline in Amazing Spider-man Torn, but something about her origin and design do make her an easy fit into the early-ish rogues gallery. She could be too close to a goblin design, but isn't. Hope she survives to appear in the present day somehow.

I think that sometimes we forget that it is ok for comic books to be neat. Or make you feel pretty good. The current Supergirl series reminds me of that. Especially issue 7. Move over King Shark, its Princess Shark week this week. I'd love to see more people interacting this series as it exists now.
