Snow day! Snow day!!

A view of the hills this morning. Had to find my coat and walk the doggie before coffee or breakfast - he loves this stuff (and has been bugging me to go back outside ever since...)

🪦 Happy Halloween everyone!!! 🎃

I don't have any recent sculptures that are particularly spooky unfortunately, but here's a repost of an older project I had a lot of fun making - a catbat automaton!🐈‍⬛🦇

Hello little ones... what will you be when you grow up? 🌱

I love seeing other people's unfinished art projects and workspaces, so here is a gaggle of paper mache gremlins - soon to be sanded, painted, and given spun cotton blankets :')

Sculpted a frosty fellow with a lovely rainbow seashell - made from paper mache and glass eyes, painted with acrylics. :)

Look at this lil face! 💙❄️

You can find it (and many friends) here: shop.crumplings.co.uk

From a Birnam Hill climb today! Awesome autumn weather, could've stayed outside all day.

This goofball may look brave and majestic, but in truth he was too concerned about the noise to get any closer to the waterfall (we had to find him a puddle to drink from)

WIP automaton - A pilot's study 🕯️

Probably the project I miss working on the most! Will hopefully be able to make some progress this weekend, as I've finally managed to clear enough space after moving house to set up a humble workshop again :)

We knew it was a fixer-upper so it'll be fine, even though there's a lot more to sort out than anticipated!

We are so fond of the location and this was the only place here in our price range, so in a weird way I'm glad we didn't know everything. I love waking up and seeing the mist on the hills.

Another humpback whale in the making! Working on a mossy stone look for this one.

Sculpted from paper mache, painted with acrylics 💚

And on the househunting front, it's starting to look pretty likely that in a few months we will be able to move to a lil riverside village in Scotland! 🥳

(It's where my husband and I got married a few years back, so we have very fond memories of the area :))

Hi again friends!! 🌱🐛

It's been a busy spring, with house hunting taking a lot of time and energy - fingers crossed that's sorted now, and I can get back to more regular gremlinposting 😌 I've really missed the vibes on here!

These two are made from paper mache, spun cotton, and fabric scraps. 💕

Today's work in progress is this colorful gremlin art doll! 🥹🎉 I'm mostly using paper mache, spun cotton, and fabric scraps for this lil creature.

The adorable little New Moon calf will be sent to a randomly selected follower who reposts the above post, and leaves a comment indicating they want to take part. :)

The winner will be picked on the next New Moon, which will be Feb 28th! Very curious to see if the puzzle game is solved by then.

Treasure hunt? Treasure hunt!! ❄️

I started exploring a concept I've loved for a very long time: treasure map puzzles! Solve all 8 and you could win the Snow Moon elephant. 🌕✨

Entry is free & open to everyone. (Also, you can repost this for a chance to win the little New Moon calf - rules below!)

Visited family in Finland! Was great to see my siblings, they're the best 😭

In lieu of new art, here's a pile of snow?

(My dad & I made it for the Saimaa ringed seals, who need more snow for burrowing than they got this year. Only ~500 exist, but used to be ~100! Manmade snowdrifts help a bit 🦭🤍)

A butterfly elephant inspired by the upcoming Snow Moon, and her little calf with new moons on its ears! ❄️🌙

(These two are related to a small collection of reasoning puzzles I made in a similar aesthetic vein, though using watercolors and inks. I'll be posting more about next week!! Can't wait :))

It'll take a while to finish this one (... please ESPECIALLY don't look at the face, it's just a mockup but somehow looks 10x scarier in photos gghdfgsdhh) - but this sculpture has been one of my absolute favorites to work on recently! 💫🐌 #wip

It's #PortfolioDay! 💖 I'm a sculptor making art dolls & all sorts of creatures mostly using paper mache combined with other materials.

After taking a winter break I've been hard at work with some bigger projects - will have a bunch of exciting stuff to share in the near future, so stay tuned! :)

A quirky frosty lil guy for day 24 of #ArtAdventCalendar - merry Christmas Bluesky!! ❄️🕯️🌲

This event was so much fun, thanks everyone for sharing such an incredible variety of artworks. :) And thanks to @jayispainting.earthskyart.ca for organizing it - hope you recover soon.

#ArtAdventCalendar, day 23! Here is a paper mache corvid painted with Black 4.0. The surface reflects so little light that especially in photos it's often hard to see much more than the silhouette.
