Snow day! Snow day!!

From a Birnam Hill climb today! Awesome autumn weather, could've stayed outside all day.

This goofball may look brave and majestic, but in truth he was too concerned about the noise to get any closer to the waterfall (we had to find him a puddle to drink from)

WIP automaton - A pilot's study 🕯️

Probably the project I miss working on the most! Will hopefully be able to make some progress this weekend, as I've finally managed to clear enough space after moving house to set up a humble workshop again :)

We knew it was a fixer-upper so it'll be fine, even though there's a lot more to sort out than anticipated!

We are so fond of the location and this was the only place here in our price range, so in a weird way I'm glad we didn't know everything. I love waking up and seeing the mist on the hills.

And on the househunting front, it's starting to look pretty likely that in a few months we will be able to move to a lil riverside village in Scotland! 🥳

(It's where my husband and I got married a few years back, so we have very fond memories of the area :))

It's been a busy spring, with house hunting taking a lot of time and energy - fingers crossed that's sorted now, and I can get back to more regular gremlinposting 😌 I've really missed the vibes on here!

I started exploring a concept I've loved for a very long time: treasure map puzzles! Solve all 8 and you could win the Snow Moon elephant. 🌕✨

Visited family in Finland! Was great to see my siblings, they're the best 😭

In lieu of new art, here's a pile of snow?

(My dad & I made it for the Saimaa ringed seals, who need more snow for burrowing than they got this year. Only ~500 exist, but used to be ~100! Manmade snowdrifts help a bit 🦭🤍)

A butterfly elephant inspired by the upcoming Snow Moon, and her little calf with new moons on its ears! ❄️🌙

(These two are related to a small collection of reasoning puzzles I made in a similar aesthetic vein, though using watercolors and inks. I'll be posting more about next week!! Can't wait :))

The hardest part about training a dog was 100% spotting all the undercover dogs trying to infiltrate dog training blogs

An excerpt from an interview where David Lynch tells an interviewer about a Jack Russell terrier he had, named Sparky, and laments that he can't have a dog because when you go out you worry about them. The interviewer suggests keeping a mouse as a pet instead, and Lynch remembers someone in his neighborhood used to fly a mouse in a remote-controlled glider over Hollywood. He suggests the mouse really dug it. [Please don't do this tbh mice almost certainly don't dig flying]

It's #PortfolioDay! 💖 I'm a sculptor making art dolls & all sorts of creatures mostly using paper mache combined with other materials.

After taking a winter break I've been hard at work with some bigger projects - will have a bunch of exciting stuff to share in the near future, so stay tuned! :)

#ArtAdventCalendar, day 23! Here is a paper mache corvid painted with Black 4.0. The surface reflects so little light that especially in photos it's often hard to see much more than the silhouette.
