Communities, lives, careers, treaty obligations, and futures are at real risk. I'm not optimistic the federal government will do what is needed, but I'm hopeful that private foundations, partner institutions, and states will find ways to sustain tribal colleges. montanafreepress.org/2025/07/03/o...

- militarizes police
- puts police above the law
- deploys the military domestically
- encourages aggressive policing of protests
- targets political dissent, opponents and those protecting marginalized people

This is the pretext for martial law and a roadmap to authoritarianism.

I've studied this for 20+ yrs: 1) you can't value "local control" AND force MAGA views on schools, 2) "DEI" bans center mainstream ideas & create "hostile environments" for minoritized students, & 3) vague "guidance" seeks to control not only $, but minds & hearts. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/03/u...

i would love to spell out “climate programs” as what they are:

-helping local communities stay safe from floods and fires
-grants for farmers and small businesses
-programs to maintain our electrical grids, drinking water, roads, and bridges
-funding for public transportation in urban & rural areas
My colleagues and I at @insideclimatenews.org found chaos and confusion as their federal climate and environmental justice grants remain frozen despite court orders. Attorneys say the Trump administration is now making baseless claims against the programs.

EPA’s chief is also trying to claw back $20 billion, implying wrongdoing. Attorneys call it an evidence-free tactic to get around judges’ orders.
