I did it. I ordered the LEGO Enterprise D. I had a family member offer to give me cash towards part of it as my holiday gift from them. I'm also going to cut back on my art budget a bit at my local comic con next year to help with the sticker shock. Damn. But I want it so much!!!

Alt: a man in a suit and tie, the man is Stephen Colbert, is sitting at the Colbert Report desk with his hands outstretched at begging for something to be given to him. Now.

In my version of Chuck's version, everything is the same as his but there would be a dance sequence to Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (for Fighting)."
If you rebooted RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK today with the same temporal margins, it’d be set in the 1980s. Neo-Nazi punks would have their faces melted by the opening of a forbidden arcade cabinet at the KB Toys at your local mall. Indiana Jones would wear a Hawaiian shirt and Chuck Taylor sneakers.
We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Is today going to be the justification for martial law or other scaling up of federal law enforcement around the country?

I've been in the non-author side of the book trade for 10 years. From a bookseller and buyer at an indie to working for a book distribution company. This is so true!!!!
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I want to shake the hand of the person(s) who bid over a million on the Bob Ross. Good work! I hope we get to see where it ended up next season.

Do I still have to submit BLS reports if they're not using the data? 🤔
The Bureau of Labor Statistics is now refusing to release the October jobs report—because the numbers are abysmal. Economists estimate we lost 35,000 to 50,000 jobs, but that’s coming from private models and back-channel guesses since the administration effectively knocked out its own scoreboard.

Can Missouri be next? Please. Since the state doesn't want to accept our petition...
Whoa: A federal court just barred Texas from using its new congressional map, drawn by the GOP to target Dems.

"Substantial evidence shows that Texas racially gerrymandered the 2025 Map."

Court says the old map must be used in 2026. Appeals are certain. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

I haven't bought Expedition 33 yet, but it's on my list. I will probably pick it up next week.
This year of me getting back into PC gaming my favorite game has been Two Point Museum. I love sims and museums, so it is a natural fit.

I went to a Oddities and Curiosities expo today. Found an amazing Fiji Mermaid taxidermy that was sadly out of my price range. But I got a really fun Evil Dead shirt and some new hair clips!

I know a lot of people don't like mayo, but if you do like mayo here's a tip. Go to a restaurant supply store or a bulk store like Sam's or Costco and buy the "heavy" mayo. It's going to be a huge container, but it's super cheap and so much better than regular mayo. At least in my family's opinion.

Love the fact '97 Bonnie & Clyde by Tori Amos is on this list. I loved her Strange Little Girls cover album. Feels like Stan could be the third Eminem written song on here.
