Horus Heresy book 8 - Battle for the Abyss by Ben Counter finished. And I'm going to be honest... After my hopeful post when I was starting I was left... Disappointed.
The fact I finished it proves it wasn't terrible. But I've got quite a few issues with it honestly.

Horus Heresy book 8 - Battle for the Abyss by Ben Counter finished. And I'm going to be honest... After my hopeful post when I was starting I was left... Disappointed.

And that's volume 21 of That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime completed by Fuse. So non-spoiler talk... That was an improvement over last book. Bit less "ZOMG EP OVER 9000!". First half I really rather enjoyed. Second half... Eh. Was a bit of a chore honestly. Let's dive into the spoilers...

Part 1 of my Horus Heresy break! Junji Ito's Dissolving Classroom. I'm about half way through, and it's been classic Junji so far. Feels maybe a little more whimsical than some of his other stories while still being horrific. It's good fun if horror manga is your thing!

Little behind so here's a catch-up. I just FINISHED False Gods by Graham McNeill. It's kind of weird. I know just enough about WH40k to know the Heresy was inevitable. But the last book painted a picture that kinda gave you hope anyway? And then this one comes along and panders to that hope for...

Have to say though, Queen Beryl absolutely ruled this stage, such a powerful performance. Maya Tsuyuzume - amazing!

Have to say though, Queen Beryl absolutely ruled this stage, such a powerful performance. Maya Tsuyuzume - amazing!

I fucked up. The last book was Vexations vol 4. Must say the story DID get very good by the end, even if a touch predictable. Nice try on a twist ending but yea. Called it.
Now I need a change - back to Grimdark Blackadder. So Sandy Mitchell, Hero of the Imperium, picking up at The Beguiling!

I fucked up. The last book was Vexations vol 4. Must say the story DID get very good by the end, even if a touch predictable. Nice try on a twist ending but yea. Called it.
Now I need a change - back to Grimdark Blackadder. So Sandy Mitchell, Hero of the Imperium, picking up at The Beguiling!

So... Just finished Piero Karasu's 7th volume of the MagiRevo series. I can absolutely see what they were going for with this volume. But if I'm being honest I don't feel it worked amazingly well. This volume centers on Anis personal growth. And some larger stuff sort of starts?

Ok so I finished up with MagiRevo 6 and it was pretty great! Now onto the first volume of Konosuba: Gods Blessing on this Wonderful World! This was gifted to me by the equally wonderful @russet.bsky.social . I've seen and enjoyed the anime already and this has been very good so far!

Long time since my last, but I've been busy. I've finished all the Executioner series I currently have (excellent if a bit heart wrenching towards the end there). Now on to a gift from the wonderful @orona.red, my first exposure to Warhammer 40k beyond about an hour of Vermintide 2.

Well. Finished Koimonogatari and then realised that I could read most of Bookworm Part 5 vol 9 at j-novel.club . Already finished what's available if that now and started The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady by Piero Karasu.
