I just witnessed the S.Korean protests: we can up our game here in the US: Every weekday, for hours, outside the civic centers. Long rows of booths provisioning the protesters w/signs, snacks, handwarmers. They marched for hours every night, a circuit around downtown Seoul bolstered by megaphones
it's lovely for people to get out and great for movements to be inclusive but dictators don't bow down to signs
Deeply weird seeing people try to paint the protests in South Korea as family friendly parties when the one that stopped the original coup featured girls doing karate moves on riot cops and guys in the legislature spraying special forces units with fire extinguishers

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Hey, so normally I am happy to pay my taxes and have that money to go things I care about, like health insurance for poor people, education, and our National Parks. Since that isn't where my tax dollars are going anymore, I will be paying the bare minimum. This seems like a good place to start.

my favorite CIA fact that puts many of its early/deranged activities (e.g. MK Ultra, agents putting psychedelics in each other's coffee cups) in important context is that it was formed only in 1947. it was less than 20 years old when JFK was killed, younger than homeland security is today
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a declassified World War II-era CIA guide to sabotaging fascism in the workplace has become one of the most popular free ebooks on the internet:

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

A while back I asked folks why they’re joining Bluesky and the most common response I saw was, “I just want a good place to get my news” and, yall, no. Bad.

I've been imagining new archetypes to help us navigate this changing world. I have always found radical hope to be a profound tool of resistance and preserving sanity, and I wax poetic about it here :)

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive
