I'm sick and tired of hearing people talk about the "amazing images" that AI makes. Like have you seen what real life humans can make?! With their own real life hands??!! Have you seen it?!? Cause like, that shit's fucking incredible and you will never change my opinion ever.

If you (an artist) had offered to help design the company Christmas card that will be sent out to clients and then the company went and used a (really ugly) AI-generated image instead would you (an artist) use your own personal time to create an actual illustration for them or just leave it? #advice

It's my partner's 32nd birthday next week and I ordered us a bunch of nerf blasters to have an epic birthday showdown.

I don't think continuing to create and share our work makes artists/writers/musicians/etc. equivalent to Nero fiddling while Rome burned. I think we're more like the band on the titanic, offering what escape and comfort we can while the deck shifts beneath our feet.

I think something kinda funny and cute about there being so much stupid AI art/photos *everywhere* that I am more appreciative of imperfect art - in every sense (food, fibre arts, traditional art) like I want to see visible "flaws" now because it makes it even better.

Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more
