Trump's tariffs against Brazil aren't a true show of support for their disgraced former president. He's trying to sell us on the idea that holding a figurehead accountable for their crimes is morally wrong because he's afraid the same thing could happen to him.

As long as I live, I'll never understand the mentality that when someone who wants to do good in the world speaks up, the reaction is immediately one of repulsion, like "Let's find dirt on them. Let's tear them down."

I think television peaked with Better Call Saul. I don't think I've seen anything before or since that has the perfect blend of character depth, writing, and cinematography in the way that show does. My second viewing of it is really hammering that home.
