Lover of music, theatre film & politics (however depressing that is right now).

Woke leftie snowflake and proud of it ❄️

Severe Climate anxiety & hatred of systems that mean some people have private Space races whilst others can’t afford food!

This would be an interesting excercise - can we put in examples in each of these areas of the '4 Ps' Venn Diagram?

Nigel Farage, "I don't think anybody in London even understands just how close we are to civil disobedience on a vast scale in this country, and I regret saying that"

@mrjamesob.bsky.social here's one for you...

Siblings buy a property in London & The Times posts the article along the lines of 'If we can do it then so can you & if you can't it's because YOU failed'

...hidden in the article is that their parents gave them £80k!

We’re siblings and bought a house together — here’s how we did it
Buying a home is an expensive business even if you do it with someone else, so working out the rules is important

Billionaires gained a combined $304,000,000,000 YESTERDAY! Not in the decade, year, month or even week - YESTERDAY!

That's the equivalent of giving every living soul in the UK a cheque for $4,400.

This was the greatest heist / extraction of wealth in human history!
Billionaires Score Best-Ever Day as Stocks Soar on Tariff Pause
The world’s wealthiest people added $304 billion to their combined net worth on Wednesday — the largest one-day gain in the history of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index — as stock markets soared after ...

@mrjamesob.bsky.social listening to yesterday's Brexit conversation. Completely agree that EU won't consider until it's 'dead', but if we ignore it or avoid it, it won't die. We, Starmer & Labour need to kill it by pushing the message of it's failure, again & again until is stone cold dead.

And here we have it, the CPAC now blatantly advertising / promoting an unconstitutional 3rd Presidential Term for Trump, along with the clear imagery of Trump as ruler (rather than elected leader).

Who won’t be involved in any of this? That’s right, old Blighty!

We can thank Nigel “Putin’s my favourite politician” Farage & everyone who championed Brexit for this. Was there ever a greater act of self-harm on a national scale?

We are a tiny island, rendered insignificant on the world stage.

Listening to @lewisgoodall.com on @lbc.co.uk this morning. Reading a text ‘laughing at the left’

I wonder how vacuous this guy’s life is that (a) he spends 3hrs a day listening to LBC at 10am to ‘laugh at lefties’ and (b) is happy with things costing more because of tariffs.

Odd mindset!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I haven't heard mention yet about SureStart or Youth Clubs in this discussion. As others have said, children without opportunities turn to gangs who provide them, but SureStart helped families before this happened & Clubs gave kids a focus outside of school hours. 1/2

Starmer has to (against his 'political nature') is to go on the attack. Highlight all of his claims & the truth behind them. Put in the required legislation regarding online platform regulations, political donations etc.

The ONLY thing he can do is attack with the truth.

A potentially significant milestone has been passed very quietly.
With Haigh's departure from the cabinet, for the first time in our political history, the cabinet is 100% state educated. Quite the moment.

@lewisgoodall.com created a rather fitting comparison between the tone on BlueSky vs ‘the other place’.

Exact same post, ‘slightly’ different responses…

Kemi Badenoch tells Keir Starmer that "we had a Budget in March this year and tractors were not blockading the streets of Whitehall afterwards."

Anyway, here's the 'go slow' protest by farmers that blockaded the streets around Parliament following the Conservative Government's last Budget in March

The notion of ‘having to earn a living’ is one of the most dangerous in human existence.

It implies that you don’t deserve to live, that you aren’t enough as you are.

We can also ask about their views on two-tiered justice.

Within a week he’s had the 34 felonies re: payoff indefinitely delayed & now both the attempted coup & classified documents cases are to be dropped.

Justice is far from blind & is now nothing more than a fallacy.
If you're interviewing a Trump apologist in the UK media/politics sphere, don't ask about trade, tariffs or even NATO *until* you've asked about the coup attemt, the sex offending & the felonies. These people claim to care about all the things that Trump denigrates daily. Call them out on it.

@lbc.co.uk @mrjamesob.bsky.social if employeers don't engaging with DWP / Jobcentre Plus how are potential employees supposed to benefit from them?

Surely an onus must be on bringing employers around who can accept temporary, 'incosistent' work due to the 'incosistent' nature of people's illnesses?
November 25, 2024 at 10:15 AM
You argue the merits of legislation & vote based on what it is calling for at that time.

Then if it’s revisited you do the same, if you then feel the changes are unacceptable, you vote against it.

You don’t vote against something because of what it might end up looking like at some future point.
Can never understand the logic of "slippery slope" arguments when we have a system where the House of Commons decides nearly everything. It's only a slippery slope if in the future the Commons changes its mind on something- which guess what, it can do at any time.

Staggering levels of ignorance from someone who, somehow, has access to some of the most important offices in this country.
The ICC has issued an arrest warrant for Putin. Khomeini died in 1989. Robert Jenrick wanted to be Tory leader, but doesn't appear very well informed about current affairs.

Don’t know if #FollowBackFriday is a thing on here but I’m all for it.

If you despaired at the US election result, cheered at the UK election but wish Labour would be…more Labour, if you’re fearful of our inability to tackle the climate crisis, then give me a follow and I’ll send one back!

We, a relative minnow (compared to our view of ourselves) left the world’s largest trading bloc…for reasons.

We rejected the economic protections that membership inherently gave us.

Now we’re essentially crossing our fingers that our biggest trading partner isn’t going to slap tariffs on us!

Yay!
