Day 8: Plying some Upland cotton from the Great Wheel using a homemade rig I call the "Bed o' Nails." It helps control the pigtails, and I can worry about the spin later. "One crisis at a time," I like to say. #tourdefleece.

Government can’t function without people working in it, folks.

Sometimes, even gorgeous fleeces can have problems. This one has a break from the rise coming in early in a year that was very warm, for a long period of time, much earlier in the year than expected.
This can be dealt with by removing the weak bit; it's just time-consuming.

People are quick to pooh-pooh things like knitting and crochet and embroidery and quilting, but there's something a little rebellious about deliberately being inefficient when we're constantly bombarded with tips to optimize our personal output.

Yarn for Mom is now done. Once the skein is dry, will hand roll it into a ball and then it will be shipped.
The Saga of the handspun yarn is now complete.
This is the first time I have spun yarn since my hand surgery, so it has a bit more character to it than normal.

Across this country, working people are fed up with CEOs and corporations working us to death so they can continue to get richer.
