I am an Artist, hand spin yarn, raise Indian Fantail pigeons, have turkeys, goats, and love my cats.

Bergere is an old French word for shepherdess, my nickname from back when I raised sheep.

This photo was taken with my DSL on my old property in NW Oregon- 2011. Before we had to move to VA.

Slowly getting the hay shed re-stained and ready for winter.
Almost done with the back of the shed.
Photos are of before, during and after.
Once I get this finished will be able to get back to hand spinning yarn.

I know I haven't been as active on here lately. Summer tends to get in the way of hand spinning yarn. Mowing, animal care, repairs, PT, re-staining sheds and so on.
Slowly matching the amount of single yarn I have in the other bobbin. Once that is done, will ply and use my new yarn counter.

New roof for the house, 50 year warranty, $$$$$ but at least I do not have to deal with this again.
Think it looks a lot better.

Decided I was going to do some archery this morning, chores could wait.
I have missed this a lot.
Damaged an arrow but at least I did not Robin hood it this time. LOL
Really need to get a holder for the iphone so I can get better photos.
Hoping to be able to spin some yarn later.

On Rose's morning walk, she let me know there is a cardinal family living in the out of control native grape vine.
I seriously need to put up a triple cattle panel fence arch up before this grape vine takes over the world. LOL...

Starting spinning my yarn again, despite all the issues.
It is a peaceful and Zen hobby.

Way behind on mowing and can only do it in the morning after I take Rose for her walk. The heat and humidity makes it tough to do outside chores.
Late blooming Crepe myrtles, we have had so much rain they are bending down. First time they have bloomed this late in the season.

Sorry I have not posted in awhile.
Still fighting with my ankle, hip, etc.
The special brace finally came in, and hope it gets the stress fracture on my ankle to heal.
Meanwhile, I keep staring at my spinning wheel.

Despite my messed up right leg, decided to hand spin some yarn this rainy morning.
Bought a new sofa, very firm seat but soft at the same time, perfect for spinning. Covered to help keep the cat hair off.
Mia approves.

A new hiccup- some how I managed to damage myself.
This is just a small part of my issue and wither I can use my spinning wheel?

After 27+ years I had to do a little maintenance on my Majacraft Saxonie. The baring on the Mother of All, holding the Maidens and Flier had come lose and no longer seated like it should be. Took a little tapping to get the baring back in and adjusted and tightened everything else.

Merino/Alpaca 2ply yarn, first Bobbin finished.
Next will get it on the skein winder and use my yard counter for the first time.

Not sure if I am going to make another skein of this next or play with the Soybean/Merino/Alpaca rolags?

Slow going making a 2 ply from the variegated yellow Merino/Alpaca.
Think it is about a 28 to 24 in thickness.
Will do yardage and WPI once I am done.
