Is that train notorious for being super late?

I have not but I would love to. Only chicago bound train I took was the Capitol Limited a few years ago.

Alao that "designed to fail" thing I believe was an attempt from the Nixon administration to show how passenger trains "just don't work" in modern society and that cars and planes are "the direction america is going". A complete lie but one that has been screwing over amtrak since 1971

Annoyingly yea, but it isn't amtrak's fault. More the fault of the lack of funding and the Class I railroads illegally prioritizing freight trains making amtrak trains super late. Also no funding for infrastructure to allow for more HSR.

Maybe it's just me but I've never had a bad experience on amtrak before. I've been 4+ hours late but in general I've had good trips and I don't really have any issues with the trains themselves. The horizon fleet situation is concerning though. Hope something can truly resolve that.

Libraries with really high shelves generally have these ladders that move left-right.

Amtrak is chronically underfunded and can't afford to lower fares. Only a few corridors are profitable but they still lose over $1B a year overall and just get enough funding to operate and fix some infrastructure. If they got more funding, they could add more trains and make travel less expensive.

Same for this guy as well I imagine. Bsky team needs new different people. This sucks. Straight up abuse of power.

The plot of land is where the house used to be

Unfortunately it's gone. The roof caved in and the walls were crumbling due to neglect and it was torn down completely in or around 2016

Never heard of this place so I researched it and discovered it was torn down because of neglect causing the roof to cave in. Very sad.

This is highly unusual. I wonder if you can report that. The same thing happened on a train my dad was on and the train was stopped and the conductor pulled the guy by his ear and almost literally threw him off the train. My dad said the next thing he saw was the guy in handcuffs.
