Was trying to clip some small parts off a resin model I’d 3D printed. Bits pinged off at incredible speed. Alarming stuff! I wound up clipping the others off one-handed, with the other hand up to protect my face.

Played a bit of #Warhammer #TheOldWorld the other week. I love the horde style of the beastmen!
Beastmen Gors closing in on a regiment of Dwarves. Close up on a massive-feeling unit I fielded of 28 Gors, in four ranks of seven My big block of Gors again. I actually need to get a bigger movement tray!

Man, I don’t know what it is with these Eightbound, but it just feels like it’s taking an age to even get them base coated. Pressing on, but it’s hard going!
Eightbound being base coated. It all looks very over-detailed plus also very crude due to the lack of shades and highlights. Painful stuff!

I realised I hadn’t been posting about my hobby recently. Here’s some photos from my club game against Custodes, where my World Eaters actually put in a good showing! #Warhammer #40k #WorldEaters

Preparing for a 1k game of #Warhammer #40k tonight and have made the harsh-but-necessary decision to bench my Helbrute. This goofy guy has a 100% track record of getting one-shotted off the table in my games, so he has to go - Khorne would never tolerate such weakness! 😀
A Helbrute in World Eaters colours. I remembered him being more finished than this, somehow! A candidate for repainting - if I learn how to use him in games, properly.

Perry plastic medieval French knights from the Hundred Years’ War. All bare plastic at the moment just after assembly, awaiting priming. They are glued to sticks in sixes, to match the intended final basing.

#Hobbystreak day 6 and I’m almost there - just the glowing sword blade to go! Building up from white to red, but so far I’ve only yellow and orange on. Model is also upside-down to let it dry without the paint pooling in odd places, and keep it tending to the tip of the blade.

#Hobbystreak day 4 & 5 and I’ve suddenly been seized by an urge to get Angron over the line. Highlights, detailing, and all that. Now at that point where you seem to have about five paints on the go at once.
Angron now with skin highlights, more layering done on the base, and almost completed!

#Hobbystreak day 3 and it’s game night at the club! My world eaters went up against the Blood Angels and lost. Mind you, we both treated it as a learning game and my two big takeaways are a) learn the secondaries far better; and b) don’t concentrate two good units in the same area.
40K battle in full flow between red chaos, red imperials, on a red table. All red! A blood angels primaris lieutenant about to try and take on a master of executions with the Berzerker glaive. It didn’t go well. A brutalis dreadnought almost cheerfully waving “hello!” To the rhino he’s about to wreck. The daemon prince about to take out the brutalis dreadnought. Fun times, before Dante turned up and banished him back to the warp.

#Hobbystreak day 2. I felt like building a model for a change, so I’ve started assembling my maulerfiend. My hope is that between him and Angron I can greatly increase the high damage output of my army, which I think I may have inadvertently underpowered before now.

#Hobbystreak day 2. Detailed up Angron with a bit more highlighting, but was cheered by the thought that he is largely done save for special areas like the base, the sword blade, etc.

#Hobbystreak day 1. Angron is getting based up (at the angry stage of painting now, as this guy has outstayed his welcome) and also pondering miniatures for Saga #HYW Medieval. I like the foundry miniatures ones, but are they too short to pair up with the Perry miniatures plastics? 🤔
