My pronouns are nerd/geek. I hope I'm an ally to many and an enemy to few. I can't believe bsky ran out of more interesting people to invite.
Those questions scare the heck out of me. If #security is seen as a gatekeeper at release time instead of a primary stakeholder all the way through (from strategy not just design/build or CI/CD on), they should stop every release until the org/culture changes. #BakeItIn

A1.2) The differences between teams can be profound, with some very focused on the Cal Newport, Daniel Pink, et al style of deep work that shouldn't be interrupted and some running on ticket queues and being very event-driven with those on-line modalities. #ciochat

For sure! I was still getting them after selling back my diesel VW due to their emissions scandal... #NoThanks

Not long until we have to pay extra for a steering wheel and pedals plus a subscription and/or usage fee every time we self-drive... #SanAngeles #BeWell

And, even worse, it didn't have to be like this at all. The would-be god kings (and literal oligarchs) decided to do it this way while loudly proclaiming that they were racing to do it first because they would surely be our most benevolent overlords. Asimov's laws are impossible with this tech...

💯, and I went back and forth a few times before hitting post. I went sort of middle-of-the-road with it. If Ms. Murati's company raised a lot less and made it most of a year before announcing another round, maybe it could work. A lot could depend on what deals they get on Amazon compute... 🤷‍♂️

I feel like it ought to be a scene with the Bowery King from John Wick...

"Please, get this man a startup!"

"$6B is a lot of money."

[holds back most of this fortune]

"$6B gets you six months of startup runway. That's $1B a month, baby."

If "military sci-fi classic about an interstellar war between humans and alien bugs" is all folks take away from the book or the (godawful, execrable, whitewashed) movie adaptation, that's a different issue. There's plenty to dislike about that sci-fi world, but that's not all there is to it.

So true... Just imagining myself trying to describe that to my previous self from the SCCS days... "Content what now???"
