Look, I need a job—badly—but I praise every god around me that I haven’t yet had to use Teams, Workday, or Concur.
There are 1,000 reasons this fortune-teller piece from 2001 is an enjoyable read, but here was the first time I literally LOLed.

“I don't think we would have started a startup to write desktop software, because desktop software has to run on Windows, and before we could write software for […]

My home doesn’t have any central heating because its builder was optimistic?, I guess?, that climate change would come soon enough that we’d never have to worry about being cold in San Francisco. I think about that sometimes, resentfully.

It’s been a hot minute since I took a bog-standard Lyft, so, did I miss the development when they became *terrible* drivers? Alternately, Waymo has just ruined me.

I’m not admitting I’ve had any wine tonight, just acknowledging that I fistpumped and audibly cheered the tea party scene in Ken Burns’ new revolutionary war docu.

It is deeply funny, to me, that two of the four “cameras” on the back of this device are not, in fact, optical sensors. One is a camera flash, and a second is a spot meter. And reading Moto’s tech specs page’s obfuscation of that would make Harry Frankfurt shriek […]

Sure but what about that cat that ran under that Google car. “Two people were shot near 16th and Valencia streets early Sunday morning, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Both were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and one died at the hospital.” […]

When I was a kid I had a recurring dogsitting gig for a neighbor and I always tried to treat the dog so well that she’d resent her owners and fall in love with me instead. I think this is what is happening with my cleaning lady and my houseplants.

The SF mayor tried to appoint a random person he’d met at a night market to be a city politician. It turned out that this random person’s primary claim to work was ‘managing a pet store.. extremely poorly’.

This whole fiasco happened because […]

Either there is someone else in San Francisco who also always sets the AC to 59°, or Waymo has started remembering passengers’ temperature settings now. Either way is cool by me.

I’m a little surprised that parks aren’t woke now. Like, lovingly maintaining fields and groves for the enjoyment of all, that’s woke as hell. RETVRN TO TRADITION; true tradmascs exercise in parking lots, like the Spartans.
