Now instead of "just wear a mask", it's "you're crazy for wearing that!" even from medical staff.
Humans have a primitive need for conformity, not just to fit in, but to have uniformity among the "tribe"; Any individualistic behavior is disturbing when one wants to bury their head in the sand.

It’s been nearly 6 years. We can’t stay home forever.
We need medical care, groceries, pharmaceuticals.
We also deserve to live our lives.

I had a painful reminder today of how much my social circle has diminished due to my chronic health conditions and COVID avoidance.
Even so, cashing my brain and body in for some broader social acceptance still just isn't worth it.
But that doesn't make it hurt any less.

Simply providing objective, scientific information is accused as "fearmongering" because it invokes fear *in them* and they can't handle the reality of the implications. This is a coping mechanism.
